i am laura wagner, and i am an artist and maker from Los Angeles, CA. I studied furniture design and woodworking at San Diego State, and while I am formally trained in conceptual furniture design, I am driven by my need for instant gratification—which, let’s be real, does not come from the slow craft of furniture building. i am forever drawn to the form of a spoon, as well as the particular function of hair combs and pins. these small handmade, heirloom-quality objects provide so much daily functionality while satisfying my need for instant gratification.

i’ve dealt with depression and anxiety since childhood, and so much of my coping process comes from how i design my objects—i try to infuse playfulness and humor into every piece. Much of my healing comes from the joy and laughter i get as each piece comes to life. i’m so glad you are here to share in that joy with me!
